International Sales and Marketing Manager – Arable Food Product
Midlands Seed Limited was established in 1990, to support and encourage the production and export of arable crops to Europeand South East Asia. Since then, the company has grown rapidly to become one of New Zealand’s major producers and marketers of vegetable and herbage seeds, pulses, oilseeds, cereal grains and related value added food products. The company is currently going through a period of rapid expansion and is looking to extend its market dominance in international markets to include Arable Food Products. In this pivotal role you will develop new business opportunities in international markets for Arable Food products which will include bulk wholesale food ingredients and value added finished products.
The main responsibilities of the role will be to develop and deliver the sales and marketing strategies to consolidate strong relationships with both new and existing accounts. You will be providing sales management and leadership to the existing Midlands Arable Food Sales team and implementing procurement, selling and operating systems and structures within the business to maximise marketing and sales opportunities.
The International Sales and Marketing Manager will undertake the promotion of Midlands Seed Arable Food Products internationally but with a particular initial focus on the Asian market. This role requires a high level of independent sales activity but also you need the ability to lead, motivate and manage the Midlands Arable Foods sales and marketing team to promote a cooperative and progressive environment. International travel mainly in Asia will be a requirement of the role.
Applicants will have significant experience in international sales and a proven track record in business development activity. Agricultural and/or FMCG experience and a background of operating and negotiating at a senior level with decision makers would be beneficial.
Your experience will also include previous involvement with marketing and procurement, along with leadership and management skills.

IT Support Technician

The essence of the IT Support Technician role is to monitor and maintain the operational effectiveness of Midlands Seed computer systems and networks and be involved in the development of the IT strategy for the business. The key focus of this position is to coordinate the operation of computer hardware, software and cell phone technology, thereby ensuring the smooth running of the business.
To be successful in this role, the key talents that you will have are:
· Experience in supporting systems and technologies including Windows XP, Microsoft 2007 and Linux
· Ability to trouble-shoot IT system and network issues and solve faults
· Set up new users on the system and provide appropriate training and support
· Install, monitor and maintain cell phone integration to the network
· Be responsible for daily systems backups
· Initiate and develop equipment and product GPS monitoring systems
· Previous experience in staff training and IT support roles
· Liaise and manage relationships with relevant third party suppliers

QA and Compliance Manager

The essence of the QA & Compliance Manager role is to manage all aspects of Midlands Group Quality Assurance and Compliance requirements across all areas of the business. The key focus of this role is to ensure maximum efficiencies and therefore, enhanced profitability. The successful candidate will ensure that internal and external standards and compliance documents meet both customer and regulatory requirements and will manage and oversee the logistic aspects of the company’s finished products – both domestically and internationally - in an effective and efficient manner.
Applicants should have management experience in HACCP or similar Food Safety based Compliance Programmes. Previous experience with internal and external audit preparation and relationships with audit service providers in addition to knowledge of import/export regulation requirements in the arable foods industry would be an advantage.

Sales & Marketing Manager
Midlands Apiaries is one of the South Island’s largest Apiaries, producing significant volumes of honey and honey products. Given their export focus, Midland Apiaries also handle exports from other South Island beekeepers. The company is seeking an individual with a high level of sales and business development experience to assist in establishing Midlands Apiaries as a leading exporter of New Zealand honey and honey products. The key focus of the role will be to develop and grow sales of the Apiaries business by identifying and building relationships with existing customers and potential clients.
The Apiaries Sales and Marketing Manager will undertake the necessary communication and promotion of Midlands honey products to expand the sales of honey products into new markets both in the domestic and international arena. Formulating effective sales strategies, operating systems and structures within the business to maximise bulk honey sales opportunities is a vital component of the role. This position requires a high level of independent sales activity to ensure targets are met and high levels of customer satisfaction are achieved via regular prospecting, customer contact and relationship management.
Applicants need to have qualifications in business, marketing, agriculture or related disciplines. Experience in sales and business development in the food industry is essential, as is experience in operating and negotiating at a senior level. Specialised knowledge of honey products is required and international sales experience in selling honey to export markets would be a distinct advantage.

Apprentice Beekeeper
Interested in a fascinating and well paid career in the outdoors? Midlands Apiaries Limited can offer you that.
We operate a large number of Beehives in Mid Canterbury for honey production and seed crop pollination. Due to our planned expansion we have a vacancy available at either our Staveley or Ashburton bases. You will be working in a small team and over time be trained in the skill of beekeeping.
